Unsaturated fats and fiber are known for lowering cholesterol, while omega 3 fatty acids can help prevent heart attacks, while Vitamin E can help stop the development of plaques in your arteries, which can narrow them. Plaque development in your arteries can lead to chest pain, coronary artery disease or a heart attack.

Raisins

Raisins contain fiber, iron, calcium and many antioxidants. One-half cup of raisins will give you 3.3 grams of fiber, which in turn can help prevent high blood pressure. Raisins are commonly known for lowering blood pressure, and a handful of raisins can lower one’s blood pressure instantly. Antioxidants in raisins fight the growth of a type of bacteria that can cause inflammation and gum disease. And dealing with gum disease can help you avoid heart disease.

Red Wine

Whether you are a fan of an alcoholic beverage or not, you can’t deny the fact that red wine can be good for you and your fragile heart. Studies have proven that a glass a day is very beneficial to your health, especially to your cholesterol. Besides, red wine is an awesome pair to any snack!
