At Trattoria Il Panino, we are recognized for serving flavorful, hearty Italian dishes. While Italian food is traditionally carb-heavy, we offer plenty of lighter options. If you’re watching your weight before the holidays sneak up on us, our chefs have several meals and appetizers that are completely healthy.
Our Octopus Salad features potatoes, celery and green olives. Avoid using a creamy dressing if you’re looking to cut calories. The Carpaccio di Bresaola includes dried cured beef with arugula salad, another healthier salad option. We also have a fabulous Boston Bibb Salad with lemon vinaigrette, candied pecans and red wine poached pears.
When you’re through with the salad and ready for the main course, salmon is always the healthiest choice. The Salmone Arrosto includes tomatoes, mixed olives and vinaigrette. If you aren’t a fan of seafood, opt for the Lamb Scottadito which is an Australian grilled rack of lamb with au jus rosemary demi glace.
Pasta can be tricky because some sauces include more salt and saturated fat. The Penne Puttanesca is a delicious Italian dish that includes Italian pancetta, onions and San Marzano tomato. The Spaghetti Aglio e Olio comes with garlic, oil and red pepper flakes so you’re avoiding both the thick, red tomato sauce and a creamy white sauce.
