“Fresh Pasta!! We went here late night after a show, because thankfully they were still servicing food after 10pm. We had the lobster ravioli and the ragu…both were amazing and the service was great. We didn’t stick around for dessert, but that looked delicious too!
Highly recommend Panino.”–Jav S

“This was the best meal we’ve had in the North End. The mushroom ravioli was homemade and amazing. The BiB lettuce salad with poached pears and pecans was perfect. The rest of my party were equally pleased.”

“After walking around the North End and seeing a fairly consistent three and a half star rating for most of the restaurants we considered, the 4 stars for Il Panino seemed to be a good omen.
I had an office in the North End in the early 90’s and a shop by the same name was a regular lunch takeout, with amazing sandwiches.
Not sure if they are the same people, but the quality of this meal was outstanding.
I ordered the catch of the day. Cooked to perfection on a bed of polenta and greens. My partner the porcini ravioli, and her daughter had the Quattro Carne ragu.
We all agreed that it was the best Italian meal any of us had yet eaten in the North End.”

“Whenever a friend or family member visits me in Boston & they are looking for traditional authentic Italian food, I always take them to Il Panino.
There are two entrances to the restaurant – one in Hanover and one on Parmenter. The one on Parmenter is the original and is a smaller space, but is my personal favorite if you can get a table on their patio seating! Parmenter is more traditional, Hanover more modern and stylish. I recommend making a reservation and you can always call ahead and ask them to seat you in a certain area!
The Lobster Ravioli is amazing and is stuffed with lots of fresh lobster. I’ve found that at some restaurants they try to skimp you by not filling the ravioli with lobster, but not at Il Panino! It’s full of delicious lobster in a bed of an incredibly creamy sauce. The portions are pretty big, so it’s definitely possible to split an entree and an appetizer or two to share.
My friend and I also got the Octupus Affogato to share, which was delightful. There isn’t one thing on their menu that I haven’t loved & the service is always wonderful and very attentive.”
